Pakistan stock market surges, 100 index rises more than 580 points


KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSE) is witnessing a sharp rise, with the 100 Index gaining 580 points to 38,187 points.

According to the details, on the first day of the business week, the Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed a tremendous rise, with the 100 Index increasing by 580 points to 38,187 points.

During the last trading week, the 100 Index lost 226 points to close at 37,578 points. 37.92 crore shares worth Rs 14 billion were traded during the last week.


Experts say that last week saw profit taking by investors in the stock market, investors were also cautious on the next monetary policy.

In the first week of this month, the 100 index crossed the level of 36,000 points. This week, the index had increased by 1139 points, after which the index reached 36,190 points.

During the first week of this month, 1.74 billion shares of 61 billion were traded in the market while the capitalization also increased by 199 billion to 6,481 billion.
